Peach Aviation Flight Review | Japan’s Cheapest Airlines Tips

Tennoji Station in Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture.
I am heading to Fukuoka on a Peach Aviation flight.

The current time is 21:40.
First, I will take the Kansai Rapid train to the airport.
It takes about 50 minutes from Tennoji Station to Kansai Airport (1,060 JPY).
I headed to platforms 15 and 16.

The train heading to the airport is the “Kansai Rapid”.
At Hineno Station, the train is split.
The front 4 cars (Cars 1–4) go to Kansai Airport.
Cars 5 and onward continue as the Kishūji Rapid towards Wakayama.

Arrived at Kansai Airport at 22:52.
The ticket gates are located one floor above the platforms.

There are two terminals.
Terminal 1 handles ANA and JAL flights.
Terminal 2 is dedicated to LCCs like Peach.
A free shuttle bus takes you to Terminal 2.

At 23:26, after a restroom break, I went to the bus stop for Terminal 2.
Buses run every 5 minutes, and one arrived just a few minutes later.

The shuttle bus is a Mercedes-Benz “Citaro G”.
Inside, colorful seats are lined up.
The bus departed at 23:32 and arrived at Terminal 2 seven minutes later.

I spent the night on a bench inside the terminal.
The guidance chimes for visually impaired passengers rang periodically,
but I got used to them and fell asleep surprisingly quickly.

Woke up at 05:37.
I brushed my teeth and got ready briefly.
After issuing my boarding pass, I checked in my luggage and passed security to reach the gate.

After security, I entered the waiting area.
Today’s flight to Fukuoka departs from Gate 96.
I waited on a bench for the boarding announcement.

At 07:06, the boarding announcement was made:
“Window seats at the back (A/F) and their companions, please board first.”
There was a delay.
We were held in the gate corridor for about 5 minutes.

Peach’s aircraft is instantly recognizable by its fuchsia color,
a unique shade between pink and purple.

At 07:36, we encountered a technical issue.
The flight was scheduled to depart at 07:00,
but the cabin crew announced a 10-minute delay due to maintenance and paperwork.
In reality, we were already over 30 minutes late.
Maintenance finished safely, and we finally moved toward the runway.

We took off from Kansai Airport at 07:48.
Departure was 48 minutes delayed.

The plane quickly reached cruising altitude.
Tray tables and in-flight services became available.
A few minutes later, we broke through thick clouds and enjoyed the stratosphere view.

The announcement for landing was made.
Passengers stowed tray tables and returned seatbacks upright.

We landed at Fukuoka Airport at 08:47.
The crew announced a 35-minute delay, but actual arrival was 42 minutes late.
Airlines often count departure from the time wheel chocks are removed.
It’s unclear which standard was used, but arriving 42 minutes after the scheduled time is a fact.

Soon the seatbelt sign went off.
Everyone was eager to get off.
The aisle was packed with passengers heading to baggage claim.

This Peach flight was significantly delayed.
Although I’ve flown with Peach several times, this was the longest delay.
It takes about 5 minutes by train from Fukuoka Airport to Hakata Station (260 JPY).
Convenient access to the city center is a plus.
Next time, I hope for an on-time flight.
