Sunflower Kurenai Boarding Report
| Route | Oita (Beppu Port) → Osaka (Osaka Nanko) |
| Time | 18:45 → 06:35 (approx. 11h 50m) |
| Seat | Private Single |
| Fare | ¥15,300 |
Arrived at Beppu Station in Beppu City, Oita Prefecture.
Boarded the Sunflower “Kirishima” ferry to Osaka Nanko in Osaka.
Took the bus from platform 5 in front of the station to the ferry terminal.
The bus stops at “Sunflower Terminal Beppu-mae.”
It took about 12 minutes from the station to the terminal (¥210).
After arriving at the terminal, completed the check-in at the counter on the first floor.
The counter is located immediately to the right after entering the building.
At around 17:45, the boarding announcement was made.
On this day, there were many passengers, and those requiring assistance, such as the physically disabled, boarded first as “priority passengers.”
General passengers were called afterward.
We went up to the second-floor boarding gate using four elevators in succession.
Arrived at the 6th-floor entrance.
Walking toward the center of the ship, a grand projection mapping played on the ceiling accompanied by majestic music.
This time, we booked a “Private Single” in a shared cabin area.
By scanning the QR code on the boarding pass at a dedicated terminal, the door to the area opened.
Inside, rows of cabin doors were lined up.
At 18:45, we departed Beppu Port on schedule.
Staff waved farewell with glow sticks at the port, creating a warm send-off.
After returning to the cabin, we headed to the 7th-floor bath area for a shower.
Passing through the noren curtain, we found a large bath and several shower rooms.
Around 20:00, we went to the restaurant.
The buffet offered a wide variety of dishes.
Although it was crowded immediately after boarding, we came later, about one hour before closing.
Even then, dishes were replenished, so nothing we wanted to eat was missing.
After 22:00, the ship lights were turned off.
Only the central staircase was illuminated, while all other lights were off.
23:24 – Kurushima Kaikyo Bridge
01:43 – Seto Ohashi Bridge
05:17 – Akashi Kaikyo Bridge
We passed under three bridges.
At 05:30, the restaurant opened.
Breakfast included curry, cereals, and rice porridge, easy-to-eat dishes.
The satsuma-age (fried fish cake) on the plate had “Sunflower” engraved on it.
At 06:35, we arrived at Osaka Nanko.
The 11-hour 50-minute journey ended.
A few minutes later, disembarkation instructions began, and we left the ship.
Walked to the Trade Center-mae Station directly connected to the terminal.
From here, the New Tram takes about 30 minutes to Osaka Station (¥420).
Thank you for reading until the end!
